1.What are migratory birds?

 

Some birds come from far off places in certain seasons. They are visitors who come from far off places.They are known as migratory birds.

 

Example : Golden Oriole(manjakili)

 

 

2.What are the physical features which enable birds to move?

 

 

*Birds have light bones.A bird's bones are hollow and thin.

 

*Birds have light weight smooth feathers that help them fly.

 

*Flying birds have large chest muscles that move the wings.

 

 

 3.Why do birds migrate?

 

 

Birds migrate in search of food and resting locations.Changes in climate is also a cause for migration.

4.Why are the number of migratory birds decreasing?

 

* Climate change

 

*Destruction of grasslands

 

*Hunting

 

*Pollution
