The perimeter of any figure is the sum of the length of all its sides. 




Perimeter of a rectangle

 

 

 

 

Perimeter of rectangle is twice the sum of one pair of horizontal and vertical sides.

 

 

2 x ( Length + Breadth )

 

 


 

80 + 50 = 130

 

 

2 x 130 = 260 



 

or 


 

The perimeter of a rectangle equals the double of the sum of its length and breadth.

 

 (2 x length) + (2 x breadth)

 


 

2 x 80 = 160

 

2 x 50 = 100

 

160 + 100 = 260


 

 

 

 Perimeter of a square

 

 

 The perimeter of a square is four times the length of one side.

 

 

4 x one side

 

 


 

4 x 2 = 8



 

 Perimeter of a triangle

 

 

Perimeter of a triangle is the sum of three sides.

 

 



 12 + 10 + 8 = 30
